Grade 5 - Intervals and Inversions

Brief reminder how to invert an interval:

A 7th interval becomes 2nd (and vice versa)
A 6th interval becomes 3rd (and vice versa)
A 5th interval becomes 4th (and vice versa)

A minor becomes Major (and vice versa)
A diminished becomes Augmented (and vice versa)
A Perfect REMAINS Perfect.


Diminished - minor - Major - Augmented

A 2nd Major is 2 Semitones

A 3rd Major is 4 Semitones

A 4th Perfect is 5 Semitones

A 5th Perfect is 7 Semitones
